STEM camps engage children, teens

Student Success — Richland College, in partnership with The University of Texas at Dallas, is currently offering two types of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) camps for children and teens. Three sessions of Programming & Game Design camp feature several levels: Level 1 for third graders and up–animations using Scratch, Logo and advanced Scratch software; Level 2 for Level 1 graduates and 6th graders — programming using JavaScript; and Level 3 for Level 2 graduates–introduction to programming in Java and C++. Five sessions of robotics camp will be available through Robots 4-U, during which potential Richlanders ages 7 to 17 will learn about science, problem-solving, teamwork, and technological skills, gaining valuable hands-on experience, knowledge, and career awareness as they build robots.
