Professors learn about ‘making thinking visible’

Institutional Effectiveness — EDUC 1300, History 1301, and English 1302 faculty members participating in Richland College’s Quality Enhancement Plan, “Learning to Learn: Developing Learning Power,” engaged in face-to-face professional development on Module 3 – “Making Thinking Visible” on Oct. 30. During the training session, instructors reinforced their learning about “Thinking Moves” and “Thinking Routines” through demonstration in the use of the Thinking Routine, “Headlines.” Faculty members are determining which of the seven Thinking Routines best relate to encouraging thinking and learning in their respective disciplines.
