Volleyball team hitting stride; split four matches

Playing arguably its best volleyball of the season, the T-Ducks began last week’s play with a tough five-set loss to Cedar Valley College before responding with a 25-16, 25-22, 25-22 win over Southwestern Christian College on Thursday, Oct. 7.

In their Richland Quad Match on Saturday, Oct. 9, the T-Ducks defeated Southwestern Christian College, 25-11, 25-9, 25-13 and lost in straight sets to Hill College, an NJCAA Division I institution.

Meanwhile, Richland’s ShaQuoia Mask of Sherman ranks No. 12 in kills per set among NJCAA Division III players with a 3.33 average, Krystal Willis of DeSoto ranks No. 21 in digs per set at 4.08 and Ashley Holt of DeSoto ranks No. 22 in assists per set at 7.23. 

Tonight, Richland is scheduled to travel and play Brookhaven College at 7 p.m. before hosting Southwestern Adventist at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12. The T-Ducks finish their play this week with another road match against Eastfield College at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 14.
