T-Ducks sweep weekend series against North Lake

The bats were red hot over the weekend for Richland College’s baseball team as the T- Ducks outscored North Lake College 39- 4 in three road victories.

Richland opened the series with a 16- 0 victory before posting 17- 3 and 6- 1 wins to improve to 12- 13 on the season.

Entering the weekend series, Richland outfielders Josh Christenson and Jeff Sakowski were leading the team in batting average with .515 and .485 respectively, while first- baseman Travis Latz was at.427.

Latz and Christenson also led the T- Ducks in RBIs and home runs with 34 and eight and 33 and six, respectively.

On the mound, Richard Young led the T- Ducks in ERA at 1.84. As a team, Richland had a 4.13 ERA.

Richland, which plays on the road against Navarro College on Monday, March 17, will host Murray State at 1 p.m. on Wednesday and Brookhaven at 2 p.m. on Friday in the opening game of a three- game series. The series concludes with two games on Saturday, with the first contest starting at noon.
