T-Ducks start 2008 with a victory

The Richland College basketball team started 2008 on a winning note Thursday as the T-Ducks got back into the swing of things with an 82-74 home victory over International Sports Federation.

Richland shot nearly 50 percent from the field, including hitting seven 3-pointers.

The T-Ducks, who are gearing up for conference play beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12 at home against North Lake College, was led in scoring and rebounds by Tony Bishop, who finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds and five steals.

Also scoring in double figures were Antwan Mullins (16) Chibuzo Elonu (11) and Jeff Steinbaugh (10).

Richland continues its four-game home-stand with games at 2 p.m. on Saturday against Collin County Community College and at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9 against Paul Quinn College before hosting North Lake College.
