T-Ducks let second-half lead slip away in loss

In the first of two matchups in the three games, the Richland basketball team let a second half lead slip away at home Wednesday when the T-Ducks lost, 68-56, to Grayson College.

The T-Ducks held a 44-42 lead with around nine minutes left to play in the game but that’s when Grayson started to put the game away by going a 18-2 run in which the Vikings made four 3-pointers.

Richland, which led 10-2 to start the game, cut the lead to 60-52 with 1:24 left in the game on a Chibuzo Elonu tip-in but the T-Ducks wouldn’t get any closer the rest of the way.

The T-Ducks will seek revenge when they travel to Sherman to take on Grayson College at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5. Richland will next play at 2 p.m. Saturday against Collin County in Plano.

Richland is 6-4 on the season.
