T-Ducks get first conference win

Richland College grabbed its first win in Metro-Athletic Conference play on Wednesday when the T-Ducks beat Mt. View College, 76-64.


The road victory comes after Richland opened Metro-Athletic Conference action with a tough home loss to North Lake College.


Next up for Richland is a home game at 2 p.m. on Saturday against Cedar Valley College.


In what T-Ducks’ coach Jon Felmet called one of his team’s best games this season, Richland held a 34-32 halftime lead before the guys increased their lead to 14 with seven minutes left in the game.


The T-Ducks were lead by numerous guys, including Antwan Mullins (22 points, five rebounds, seven assists), Chibuzo Elonu (10 points, 12 rebounds), Tony Bishop (eight points, seven rebounds), Johnny “JT” Taylor (eight points, eight rebounds), Jeff Steinbaugh (three points, seven assists).


Giordan Cole, back in action after missing the conference opener, also added 12 points and nine rebounds.
