King scores early goal to lead T-Ducks past Mountain View College

Led by an early goal from sophomore forward Joel King of Palestine, the Richland College men’s soccer team defeated Mountain View College, 3-0, on Friday, Oct. 1 to earn its second consecutive shutout.

The T-Ducks (6-2), which are ranked No. 2 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, added two second-half goals to put the game away. 

“This was a great night to play soccer,” T-Ducks head coach Sean Worley said following the win. “We had a lot of support here from our friends and family, and the boys were ready.”

Next up for the T-Ducks is their annual Thunderduck Invitational Tournament, which begins Thursday, Oct. 7.

Richland is scheduled to play its tournament games against Allen County at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday and Hill College at 3 p.m. on Sunday. For the complete tournament schedule/times, visit www.richlandcollege.edu/sports .
