Baseball team drops two of three games over weekend; back in action on Monday, April 18
After losing two of three games in an important series against Brookhaven College, the Richland College baseball team will look to get back on a winning track at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 18 when the T-Ducks host Navarro College.
Entering the T-Ducks’ series against Brookhaven, Richland College was one game out of the playoffs and, according to coach Guy Simmons, “needed to play better than Cedar Valley College does for the rest of the way.
“We need to win at least four of six,” Simmons continued prior to his team’s weekend games. “With nine games to go we must win two more than Cedar Valley does the rest of the way.”
The T-Ducks (15-23) opened the series with a 7-4 win before dropping the final two games, 9-1 and 4-2.
Richland College’s next Metro Athletic Conference opponent is Mountain View College. The final home series of the season for the T-Ducks open with a single game at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 21 before concluding with a double header beginning at noon on Saturday, April 22.
In the teams’ previous meeting, the T-Ducks won two of three games.
