The men’s soccer team moved up four spots in the latest NJCAA Division III poll released on Wednesday, Sept. 9, moving from No. 14 to No. 9.
The women’s soccer team is off to a 2-1 start to this season after the Lady T-Ducks beat Lon Morris College, 3-1, on Tuesday.
Tuesday’s win was the second over Lon Morris College this season as the T-Ducks won the season-opener 8-0.
Richland College maintained its No. 10 NJCAA Division III ranking when the poll was released on Wednesday, Sept. 9.
The Lady T-Ducks are scheduled to host Hill College at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11 and Western Texas at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12.
The men’s soccer team rebounded from a loss on Friday to beat Santa Barbara, 1-0, on Sunday, Sept. 6 to finish in third place at the Adidas/St. Mount San Antonio College Soccer Tournament.
The T-Ducks will look to build on their third-place showing this weekend when they are scheduled to host Hill College at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11 and Western Texas at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12.
Back in action, the men’s soccer team traveled to California to play in the Adias/Mount San Antiono College soccer tournament over the weekend.
The T-Ducks lost their first game, 4-2, to the tournament host, Mt. San Antonio.
The Richland College volleyball opened its season on a high note on Friday with a 25-12, 25-7, 25-19 victory over Eastfield College.
The T-Ducks also lost to Vernon College, 25-7,25-17,31-29, on Friday.
The men’s and women’s Richland College soccer teams have kicked off the 2009 season as they seek their third and sixth national championship, respectively.
Both squads are ranked in the top 15 of the first NJCAA Division III poll of the season with the Lady T-Ducks coming in at No. 10 while the men are No. 14.
The Lady T-Ducks opened the season with an 8-0 victory over Lon Morris College last week while the men lost its season-opening game to Lon Morris, 3-2, in overtime.
