Model UN, Going Global with UN honored by Dallas mayor

The Model United Nations at Richland College and Going Global with UN videos initiative led by Richland College, the LeCroy Center and UNA USA Dallas Chapter received special recognition from Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert in a ceremony on Feb. 3 at Dallas City Hall.

Team Chair Noeli Biggs and members Jeana Remington and Diana Urrutia from Richland College; Emilio Ramos and Pam Quinn from the LeCroy Center; and Beth Pirtle from UNA USA Dallas Chapter were honored with a certificate of appreciation from the City of Dallas.

The United Nations’ goal is to dream for a better world and to play an active role in making that dream a reality. Model United Nations and the Going Global with UN videos provide students and community members a unique opportunity to change the global community by teaching them how to face the challenges and opportunities that the future will bring by fostering a strong commitment for peace, human rights and sustainable development.
