Institutional Effectiveness – Richland Associate Dean of Organizational & Staff Development Roy Bond was recently named to the Quality Texas Foundation’s Board of Governors for a three-year term beginning September 2009. The Quality Texas Board of Governors oversees the Texas Award for Performance Excellence (TAPE) program, which recognizes role model institutions across the state of Texas using the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Performance Excellence Criteria.
Institutional Effectiveness – Richland leaders headlined the Applying the Quality Equation in Education conference held at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor (UMHB) on May 1. The conference was organized by UMHB and Central Texas Workforce, a 2008 recipient of the Texas Award for Performance Excellence. More than 100 participants from Temple-area higher education and K-12 institutions attended the conference. Executive Vice President Kay Eggleston and Dean of Planning and Research Fonda Vera provided the two conference keynote presentations. Dr. Eggleston and Associate Dean of National Programs Roy Bond also presented breakout sessions during the conference.
Institutional Effectiveness – Serving as Quality Texas Examiners for the 2008 Texas Award for Performance Excellence (TAPE), Richlanders David Canine, Roy Bond, and Jeana Remington participated in application reviews and site visits for the 2008 cycle. Vice President Canine, Associate Dean Remington and Vice President Kay Eggleston attended the 2008 Quality Texas Quest for Excellence Conference and Awards in Horseshoe Bay, Texas, honoring the three 2008 TAPE recipients: Presbyterian Hospital of Plano, St. David’s Healthcare of Austin, and Central Texas Workforce in Belton. Richland Adjunct Instructor and Dallas County Tax Assessor/Collector David Childs presented on the topic of “Criteria Challenges in Government” during the conference.
