Please join us for a lecture by the Dallas-based artist and teacher Stephen Lapthisophon, discussing the current exhibition on view in the Brazos Gallery, TO EXIST AND TO AGAIN EXIST. Four of the artists in the exhibition are former students of Professor Lapthisophon. Having worked closely with each, he’ll offer insight into the work on display and the artists’ process. The lecture is open to the public.
About Stephen Lapthisophon:
Stephen Lapthisophon, currently teaching at the University of Texas at Arlington and the University of Texas at Dallas, is a multimedia artist and writer whose work addresses questions of language, history, and cultural memory. His work has been exhibited in New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Berlin and Barcelona. Lapthisophon is also represented in the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and the Dallas Museum of Art.
