The Lago Vista Gallery at Richland College presents Rebecca Coffey. Her works utilize fabric, free-hand stitching and found media to create works populated with pin-up girls, geishas and other iconic imagery. The art is created from objects found and altered by the artist. Coffey’s statement speaks of her “dedication to recycling” and states that her “greatest goal is to spread the concept of earth-friendly creativity.” The opening reception will be held on Wednesday, September 9th, 2009 from 12-1 PM. The exhibition will run from September 9th – October 15th, 2009. This event is free and open to the public.

Coffey, a San Antonio artist, has shown in several galleries and is currently the artist in residence at High Wire Gallery and Studios. She has her own gallery and studio connected to The Overtime Theater for which she acts as art director. Her works have also been published and appear in several magazines.
