T-Dust Alert #80 – Sabine Hall Roof Replacement Process

WHAT?  It is necessary to replace the roof on Sabine Hall.

WHEN?  The work is scheduled to begin on Thursday, December 5, 2019, and will take three weeks to complete.

WHO?  Parsons Roofing is the contractor who will be conducting the work as part of a districtwide re-roofing initiative.

WHERE?  To begin work on this project, it will be necessary to close the Service Drive along the south side of Sabine Hall, the Sabine Hall south entrance, and the Sabine Hall/El Paso Hall loading dock to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic Thursday, December 5, and Friday, December 6.

WHY?  This Service Drive closure is necessary to allow the roofing company to mobilize a crane and lift roofing supplies and other construction materials onto the upper penthouse roof and lower roof sections.  While the crane is in place, pedestrian traffic will be diverted around the work area to ensure the safety of students and staff.  The crane will be removed and the service road will reopen for use this weekend.

HOW?  It has also been necessary to block portions of Parking Lot B as an area to store and stage roofing materials during the duration of the project.

HOW ELSE?  This project is funded, scheduled, and managed by the Facilities Management Department at the District Service Center.

WHAT ELSE?  Please pardon any temporary inconvenience this improvement work may cause.  Your understanding and cooperation are appreciated during this work.
