T-Dust Alert #78 – Electrical Shutdown

WHAT? The temporary emergency generator is now in place and operational.  Power, lights, air conditioning, and Internet access have been restored.

WHERE? Offices in Crockett Hall and lower level El Paso Hallway (West) are back in operation. 

 HOW AND WHEN? The temporary emergency generator will supply power to these areas until 11:00 p.m. tonight at which time work will be conducted overnight to convert the power to the two new 1200-amp electrical panels.

WHAT ELSE? Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and understanding during this unforeseen event.

T-Dust Alert #76 – Asphalt Overlay Repair of Parking Lots V & W

WHAT? It is necessary to perform asphalt overlay repair in Parking Lots V & W to extend the use of the lots until concrete conversion is scheduled through a future deferred maintenance project.

WHERE? There will be (12) areas in Parking Lots V & W where the asphalt overlay repair will be taking place.

WHY? This maintenance project is necessary to prevent vehicle damage and extend the use of the asphalt parking lots.

HOW? The contractor will remove the loose asphalt in the areas of major failure and apply an asphalt overlay.  The contractor will then compact the overlay to match the surrounding grade and seal.

WHO? This contracted work is being performed by Pavement Services, and is being funded through the Richland College Facilities Services operating budget.

WHEN? The project will start July 16, 2019, and will take approximately 35 days to complete.

HOW ELSE? Parking Lots V & W will be closed on August 12, 2019.  Depending on how quickly the contractor can perform the work, there is a possibility that the lots will also be closed on August 13, 2019.  It is anticipated that the lots will be re-opened no later than August 14, 2019.
