T-Dust Alert #52 – Office Furniture Replacement Program Phase II – Del Rio and Guadalupe Halls

Del Rio Hall and Guadalupe Hall Colleagues – The two information forums on Wednesday, April 8, will be hosted by Facilities Services in SH117 at the times listed in this T-Dust Alert.

WHAT? Phase II of the office furniture replacement project will take place during summer 2015.

WHERE? Phase II will include the individual offices in Del Rio Hall and Guadalupe Hall.

WHAT NOT? This phase does not include replacement of furniture in academic school/division offices.

WHY? The existing office furniture has become worn, in disrepair, and not currently ADA code compliant to provide sufficient space for entrance, egress, and required wheelchair turning radius.

HOW? The furniture vendor/space planner has measured each individual office and designed each furniture configuration to maximize the space, providing work surface, lateral filing, overhead storage, task chair, and visitor chair. Three furniture options are available in most offices with sufficient space to allow the faculty and instructional support personnel to choose from a meeting table, bookcase, or an additional lateral file cabinet. The furniture will reflect the new campus standard.

HOW TO? Facilities Services will host two furniture information forums to explain the renovation process and provide the faculty and instructional support personnel an opportunity to review the furniture sample boards and select from the three furniture options:

Wednesday, April 8, 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Wednesday, April 8, 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

WHEN? The contents of all offices must be packed and labeled with office number by Tuesday, May 26.

WHO? Richland College Facilities Services and GCA contracted custodial services will be available to assist faculty and instructional support personnel in boxing and moving instructional materials and office contents to secure storage in the immediate area and to collect outdated, unused materials in portable recycling bins to be shredded on campus by Iron Mountain Recycling Company.

HOW ELSE? Packing boxes, tape, and labels will be provided and may be requested for delivery to individual offices by contacting Lisa Eades in Facilities Services at x6359.

WHEN ELSE? All stored office materials will be returned to individual offices no later than August 17 in preparation for faculty reporting day on August 24 .

HOW FUNDED? Funds for the various phases of the office furniture replacement project are being made possible through the Richland College Fund Balance.
