T-Dust Alert #47 – Infrared Scanning of Building Rooftops

WHAT?  Infrared scanning needs to be conducted of all building rooftops on campus to identify any current roofing issues requiring preventative maintenance.

WHEN?  The scanning will be conducted on Thursday, May 15,and Friday, May 16, at 10 p.m. each night.

HOW?  It will be necessary for a helicopter to hover at 2,000 ft. above all building rooftops to conduct the infrared scanning.  This altitude should help to mitigate noise levels for our surrounding neighborhoods.

WHO?  The contractor conducting the scanning is ICC Thermal Mapping.

HOW ELSE?  The contractor will also be on campus at noon on Thursday and Friday to take photographs of all rooftops.

WHAT ELSE?  This scanning process will aid in compiling a comprehensive preventative maintenance plan to ensure maximum longevity and energy efficiency of campus roofing systems.

HOW FUNDED?  This work is being funded from the Richland College Fund Balance.
