REVISED T-Dust Alert #12 – West Campus Water Service Interruption

WHAT? In order to complete the construction-related water main tie-in to Thunderduck Hall, it will be necessary briefly to interrupt water service to certain buildings.

WHEN? The work will be conducted from 11:00 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Wednesday night, June 4.

WHY RESCHEDULE? It was necessary to reschedule the work from Sunday morning to Wednesday night due to the City of Dallas Water Department inspector’s availability to certify the work when completed.

WHERE? The water service interruption will affect all buildings on the west side of campus.

WHO? This water service interruption will not affect any classes or student services since the work will be completed overnight.

WHEN ELSE?
 All restroom, water fountain, and laboratory water service will be restored by the time classes start and student services resume on Thursday morning at 8 a.m.

T-Dust Alert #12 – Thunderduck Hall Sunday Morning Water Service Interruption

WHAT? In order to complete the construction-related water main tie-in to Thunderduck Hall, it will be necessary briefly to interrupt water service.

WHEN? The work will be conducted from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2008.

WHERE? The water service interruption will affect all buildings on the west side of campus.

WHO? This water service interruption will not affect any classes or student services, as the only classes and services scheduled that day are in Thunderduck Hall beginning at 1 p.m.

WHEN ELSE? All restroom and water fountain water service will be restored by the time classes and Prometric testing begin in Thunderduck Hall at 1 p.m.

T-Dust Alert #11 – Thunderduck Hall Temporary Water Service Interruption

WHAT? In order to restore the water supply to the irrigation system in front of Thunderduck Hall following construction-related work,  it will be necessary momentarily to interrupt water service to Thunderduck Hall.

WHEN? The work will be conducted from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on Friday, May 23, 2008.

WHERE? The water service interruption will only affect Thunderduck Hall not other buildings on campus.

WHO? This water service interruption will only affect students, instructors, and staff in Thunderduck Hall prior to the 8 a.m. start of classes.

WHAT ELSE? Since water service will be interrupted during this period, restrooms, water fountains, and HVAC will be affected.  Signs will be installed on affected restrooms redirecting individuals to restroom facilities in Neches.

T-Dust Alert #10 – Gymnasium Bleacher Replacement

WHAT? New bleachers are being installed in Richland’s gymnasium.

WHY? This long-overdue upgrade will provide improved safety, seating capacity, and convenience for the numerous athletic and college events hosted in the gym throughout the year.

WHEN? The removal of the existing bleachers is taking place from May 10 to May 17, and the installation of the new bleachers will take place from July 12 to August 2.  Following the bleacher installation, the gym floor will be refinished August 3 to August 10.

HOW? This project is funded through Richland’s fund balance.

HOW MUCH? The design work cost $15,980, and the removal and replacement of the bleachers is funded at $176,300.

WHAT ELSE? In Richland’s ongoing commitment to sustainable local and world community, all metal from the demolition of the bleachers will be delivered to a metal recycling company.  The project’s recycle bin will be positioned on the grass on the parking lot side of the gym and not blocking a road or on a sidewalk.

T-Dust Alert #9 – Hondo/Sabine South Sidewalk Has Re-Opened

WHAT?  The installation of the storm water drain to encircle the new science building footprint has reached the point where the Hondo/Sabine south sidewalk has re-opened adjacent to the construction site.

WHERE?  The sidewalk is the one leading from the C and D parking lots past the south retaining wall of Hondo Hall (Horticulture) leading to the Sabine/Crockett and Crockett/Alamito Breezeways.

WHEN?  The work on the sidewalk and the permanent wooden fence is completed.

WHAT ELSE?  Handicapped parking spots that were temporarily moved will be restored to their original locations in the D parking lot.
