Richland sponsors RISD New Teachers Luncheon

Sustainable Community Building — Richland College was among the business, industry, and educational sponsors of RISD’s 2013 New Teachers Luncheon on Aug. 14 at the Renaissance Dallas Richardson Hotel. More than 500 new RISD teachers were welcomed by Kay Waggoner, RISD superintendent, and Florence Shapiro, former state senator and the luncheon’s keynote speaker, along with a number of prominent Richardson civic and business leaders. Kay Eggleston, Richland College president, serves as executive board vice chairman of the Communities Division of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce for which the RISD New Teacher Luncheon is a key event. Heather Lozano, Richland College assistant dean of continuing education, serves as one of three chairs of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce Education and Workforce Committee who organized the event.
